Fiberglass warm edge strips are insulating glass spacers made from glass fiber-reinforced polymer materials. They offer low thermal conductivity and high strength, and are primarily used for energy-saving retrofits of building doors and windows.
Fiberglass warm edge strip material characteristics
Core material: ABS or PP base material reinforced with 20%-30% glass fiber. Thermal conductivity is only 0.14-0.22 W/(m·K), 80% lower than aluminum.
Mechanical properties: Tensile strength of 65-85 MPa, flexural modulus of 4500-6500 MPa, and can withstand repeated bending of ±45°.
Special treatment: Surface coating with PET insulation film or 3A molecular sieve to prevent condensation and mildew.
The advanced nature of warm edge technology:
Warm edge technology has changed the window market radically. Not only does it help prevent heat loss through windows and improve the unit’s energy efficiency, it also reduces the condensation issue.
stainless steel combined warm edge spacer bar has only one-tenth the thermal conductivity of aluminum.
